Weshalb hast du pokeRT ins Leben gerufen?

Ich habe seit einiger Zeit im Hinterkopf, dass man Social Media und Party kombinieren sollte. Wir haben dann mit den Initianten des Plaza, das soeben eröffnet wurde, einen Workshop abgehalten und ein Konzept ausgearbeitet. Sowohl der Zeitpunkt als auch die Location sind perfekt.

Weshalb ist der richtige Zeitpunkt gekommen?

Social Media ist in aller Munde. Ich beobachte ein grosses Interesse aus Werbung, Politik, Film, Musik. Überall öffnen sich neue Türen, es werden aber auch Gefahren sichtbar. pokeRT soll Social Media als Phänomen thematisieren und den Interessierten näher bringen.

Wer darf pokeRT auf keinen Fall verpassen?

Wir haben für alle etwas und ein tolles Programm auf die Beine gestellt. Der linkRiss! Talk von Christian Leu, der Premiere feiert, bietet etwas für den Intellekt. Tanja Dankner wird eine aktive und charmante Moderatorin sein, das Konzert des Surprise Guest wird überraschen und unterhalten und der Social-Media- DJ Aleggs wird eine massgeschneiderte Playlist haben, die man über Twitter und Facebook beeinflussen kann.

Was wünschst du dir für die Zukunft von pokeRT?

Ich hoffe, dass viele Leute kommen werden und einen interessanten Abend geniessen können. Und wer weiss: Vielleicht beeinflusst “ Sounds worth sharing”, die von Social-Media-DJ Aleggs gespielte Musik, eines Tages die Charts.

Heute habe ich mich entschlossen den englischen Facebook Blog auf dem jeden Freitag die neusten Änderungen und Bugs kommuniziert werden ins deutsche zu übersetzen.

Ich hoffe, dass so auch andere profitieren können. Ab nächste Woche sollte ich Dezember soweit haben.

around with the theme i started to install some widgets and found Zemanta. Its a reBlog plugin that analyzes what you are writing and gives you suggestions and links.

The installation is super simple and it’s also available via the WordPress.com plugin directory. It suggests images from Flickr and it also scans for keywords that can be turned into links. You can add all type of sources, Facebook and other blogs as information pool.

I must say I’m impressed how helpful it is. I will definitely install it for some of my clients.

How to add google calendar and google contacts to the iPhone

Here a short description how to setup google calendar on your iPhone. This setup doe not require to sync. Booth, google calendar and the iphone update each other instantly.

1. Go to Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars

2. Click on “Add Account”

3. Select “Microsoft Exchange”

4. Add the details using your email address and your password

5. it Currently only works for Contacts and Calendars. NO EMAILS!
Caution: if you want to also sync Contacts, make sure that you don’t have any phone numbers in Gmail saved as “other” this numbers will not show up until you change it to “Home, Mobile or Work”

6. Got to m.google.com/sync with your iphone browser. Make sure you are viewing the Website in English, otherwise it will tell you that the device is not supported.

7. Change to English

8. if all goes well, you will see your iphone listed. Click on it and select all the Calendars you wish to see on the iPhone.

After reading and watching the movie about google wave, i’m all exited to get my fingers on this tool. Somehow i have a good feeling about this Wave. Gmail already sorts out lots of my problems. I can even imagine what it could be a interesting alternative to Basecamp and Highrise. But more to that when i got my hand on wave.
